English as a Foreign Language - 2009 Programmes
Kilfinane Outdoor Education Centre is approved by the Department of Education (ACELS) as an English Language School for the teaching of English as a foreign language.
The Centre is also approved by the Department of Education & Science for the provision of Outdoor Education Activities.
We provide residential English Language courses for foreign students and we specialise in programmes for Junior groups (12 – 18yrs) which combine English Language Tuition with Adventure Sport activities. Our minimum group size is 15 persons.
Accommodation:
Modern Ensuite rooms sleeping 4-5 persons. Bed linen & Duvets supplied. We have excellent catering facilities and operate the HACCP food hygiene programme. We can accommodate 44 students plus leaders.
Facilities:
3 Classrooms, Lounge/ TV Room, Games Room, on-site gardens, laundry facilities, dormitory accommodation, full catering facilities and sports facilities as below.
Transport:
The Centre has two minibuses which are available for in-course transport and we will be pleased to arrange airport transfers.
Outdoor Education and Sports Activities:
Kilfinane Outdoor Education Centre is approved by the Department of Education and Science. We provide many activities to include Canoeing, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Hillwalking, Rockclimbing, Abseiling, Indoor Wall Climbing, Orienteering, Riverwalk, Team Challenges and Environmental Studies. The Centre also has a sports hall equipped with games equipment for Basketball, Volleyball, Uni-hoc and Indoor Soccer.
Programmes:
Our programmes are for 2 weeks duration ( commencing Saturday or Sunday) and include:
- 15 Hours English Language Tuition per week
- 3 Adventure Sports Activities per week
- 2 Games Activities per week
- 1 Day Tour (e.g. Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch)
- Accommodation and all meals.
2009 Prices:
Centre Based Programme :
Full programme as below with accommodation, full board and evening activities. €650 per person per week
Homestay Programmes:
Full programme as below excluding accommodation and meals. €450 per person per week
Homestay accommodation, meals and daily transport to the Centre can be arranged with our local homestay agent.

BOOKINGS AND AVAILABILITY
We receive the majority of our bookings 9 -12 months in advance and consequently early booking is essential to avoid disappointment. Please contact us if you wish to make a booking. We will be pleased to hold a provisional booking for 10 days, which must then be confirmed with a completed booking form and deposit of €175 per student per week. The balance of course fees is payable 6 weeks in advance of the course.
