Primary School Tours
Kilfinane OEC provide a range of day tours for Primary Schools during May & June each year.
We also provide modular courses for the Primary Schools PE syllabus in the second school term – contact our office for further details. Kilfinane OEC is a Department of Education & Science approved Outdoor Education Centre and is administered by County Limerick VEC.

Tour 1: Outdoor Education Tour
An action packed interactive day which introduces students to the natural environment including a canoeing session at Lough Gur.
Sample Programme
10.30 am Arrive at Lough Gur - Wildlife Detective & Treasure Hunt, Mini Safari - bugs, spiders, & creepie crawlies!
1.00 pm Pack Lunch – sandwiches, fruit, crisps & drink
1.40 pm Canoeing on Lough Gur
4.00 pm Depart
Tour 2: Adventure Activities – Land & Water
Canoeing, Indoor Rockwall & Orienteering. Hot lunch provided at the Centre
Tour 3: Adventure Activities – Land
Abseiling, Hillwalking & Orienteering. Hot lunch provided at the Centre
Tour 4: Adventure Activities – Land & Water - Our most popular tour !
Riverwalk, Indoor Rockwall & Orienteering. Hot lunch provided at the Centre
Our Riverwalk is consistently one of the favourite activities with our younger students.
Kitted out in wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets, students make their way up through the river completing a number of games along the way, finishing with the highlight at the plunge pool.
Combined with Orienteering and Rockclimbing this makes T4 the ideal day out for your National School Tour
Booking your Primary School Tour
Advanced booking is advised. Much of our capacity is booked up by early March but do call us to check availability. We are pleased to hold provisional bookings for 10 days. Bookings must then be confirmed by sending in a signed booking form along with the appropriate deposit ( 50% of course fees per person). We offer a discount of €1.50 per person where you pay in full by 1st May.
