Kayaking and Canoeing have long been two of our most popular activities.
Our Introductory sessions take place on the calm waters of Lough Gur, where we have changing rooms and boat storage facilities.
We also offer Introduction to Whitewater courses which take place in Limerick on the Shannon at Castleconnell and the Mulcair River.
Our Instructors hold Canoeing Ireland qualifications and we have considerable experience in instructing, paddling and competing in paddle sports both in Ireland and abroad. We provide all specialist equipment ( wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids) and have a large fleet of kayaks and canoes suitable for all waters.
Kayaking and Canoeing are very varied sports with something to offer for everyone.
Kayaks are generally a one person craft, with the paddler seated, using a double bladed paddle. Kayaking has many disciplines to include flatwater, touring, whitewater, playboating, marathon and sprint racing, slalom, sea kayaking and polo.
Canoes are generally two person craft and the paddler kneels in the boat with a single bladed paddle. We use Canadian canoes, which are the most commonly known canoe. These boats are ideal for beginners, whitewater paddling and are an excellent craft for canoe camping.
We have close links with Limerick Kayak Club who are open to new members holding the ICU Level 2 skills award.
